Lisa's Loc Journey | 1 Year & 6 Months Loc'd
Every loc journey tells a story, and Lisa’s is one of dedication, consistency, and commitment to the process.
Lisa began her loc journey on February 26, 2025, choosing Small Traditional 2 Strand Starter Locs with Square Parts. Now 1 year and 6 months loc’d, her journey is a beautiful example of what can happen when professional maintenance and intentional at-home care work together.
One of the things that makes Lisa’s journey so special is her dedication. She travels all the way from Chesapeake, Virginia for her maintenance appointments with Works by Paige and has completed 14 maintenance appointments with me throughout her journey.
Because of the distance, Lisa also self-maintains her locs between visits, making her at-home routine an important part of her overall progress. Together, we’ve created a maintenance rhythm that allows her to care for her locs between appointments while still receiving the professional maintenance and attention they need as they continue to mature.
A major focus throughout Lisa’s journey has also been training and maintaining her curly ends. Curly ends require patience and consistency, especially as the hair continues through the locing process. With intentional maintenance during her appointments and proper care at home, we’ve done a great job preserving and training her curls while allowing the rest of her locs to develop naturally.
Lisa’s journey is a reminder that your loc journey doesn’t have to look exactly like anyone else’s. Finding a maintenance routine that works for your hair, lifestyle, and schedule can make all the difference—and Lisa’s commitment to doing her part between visits continues to show in her progress.
We’re excited to continue watching her locs mature and her curly ends evolve as she moves into the next chapter of her journey. 🌿✨
